The Year in Review.

In NYC Times Square people can write down their 2015 events on a piece of paper that they’d like to shred into confetti for the New Year ball drop. It’s called a ‘Good Riddance’ sheet. As you can imagine these participants are glad to be done with 2015 and are hoping the new year brings happier times. Watching this report on the news made me smile and prompted me to review my year.

Year 2015 had great ups, great downs and few flat periods to catch my breath. But overall, it was a victorious year! If this was a stock market review, I’d say “There was much volatility but the year ended positive and was robust in profits. It was a super challenging market but I’m so glad I participated in the market.” This would be my end of year report. And I would not participate in the Times Squares ‘Good Riddance’ sheet. 🙂 Praise God!

I also realized that I’ve been following the Lord for five years now. Once you have kids, time is chronicled by their age. I remember recommitting myself back to Jesus when my son was four. He’s nine now. This number is a big deal for me because as a young woman I gave up on my faith after five years of following Jesus. I was devoid of all hope and was very bitter for giving up everything to follow Jesus. This time, I am filled with great hope and immensely grateful that by God’s grace and power I gave up everything to follow my Lord Jesus Christ five years ago. Praise God!

My life experiences are the reason why I completely believe these statements:

John 10:29 (NKJV)

My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Sometimes I run into my siblings-in-Christ who are concerned more about the influences of the devil than the mightiness of our Lord Jesus Christ. In love, I try my best to reassure them that God is in control and therefore we can have peace. They are also concerned about certain big ministries and are vocal in their criticism. In the beginning I would heed their advice because I was uncertain about many things. But now I’m wiser and so I look deeply into the spiritual fruit of their personal lives before I consider their advice and opinions. Good trees produce good spiritual fruit.

Please pray for me. I’ve been prompted by the Lord to change the name of my blogging site so that it’s easier to find and remember. I’ve been sitting on this for a month already. Now that the super busy holiday season is over I don’t have an excuse to not move forward. However I need your prayers so I can move boldly, not fearing anyone or anything to do God’s kingdom work. Thank you so much for your prayers and support! I’ll be praying for you too! Happy New Year!!!
