What’s Your Carrot?

It appears everyone has a carrot that we are chasing after. I’m not sure if most people know or even bother to think about what their carrot is. My past carrots have been the usual popular stuff such as prestige, upward social status and money. (Yes, I was shallow.)

It’s very interesting to see how God changes me inside out. I don’t know if I’d recognize my own self five or ten years ago if we had a conversation. We are vastly different. My old self may check out the door if I spoke to her about the things that make me passionate.

So what makes me passionate today? What is The Carrot that I chase after? Of course it’s my relationship with Jesus foremost, but while on this earth I believe there’s The Carrot that we chase after too. It’ll grab your attention like nothing else and you’ll want to pursue your carrot. Hopefully it’s birthed by God so that your pursuit will yield a very good harvest. The Carrot that the Lord has given me to chase after is to provide funding for the many abandoned children in the world. I’ve heard horrendous reports on what the enemy does to these orphans. It’s evil at its fullest. The reports tear my heart apart. We must grab these little ones before Satan’s workers do.

I do the best that I can from the place I am to support charities that care for these children. But my heart has very big dreams to give soooo much more. I’m believing for hundreds of millions. A friend from my bible study inspired us by saying, “Your dream should be so big that only God can fulfill your dream.” 🙂 Well then, only God can fulfill my desire because it’s very expensive! It’ll take A LOT of money to provide a safe loving home for these abandoned children until they reach adulthood. But they will grow up to become a powerful army for the Kingdom of God because our God will be the only Father they know since youth. That’s why the enemy goes after the abandoned children with great vengeance.

I do the best that I can to follow God’s path for me everyday. I’m believing that one step at a time I’m heading towards the great dream God has placed deep within me. My husband and kids have no interest in knowing Jesus or serving the oppressed (I was just like this only few years ago) but I’m believing that their hearts will change as I do my best to honor God and seek His Kingdom first everyday. At this period, I’m lead to serve my family foremost. So by the grace and power of God, I keep on going. Let me tell you, it’s not easy. Lol!

I’m reminded of the common boy who gave his few loaves of bread and fish to Jesus. I’m sure there were others who were hiding their food for themselves. With this boy’s sacrifice, Jesus blessed and broke the bread that the boy gave to Him and then fed thousands of people. That’s what I’m believing for too. Read this story in John 6.

Jesus was very clear that we would be broken.* So I don’t think we should be surprised or discouraged when this happens to us. I believe this is a lifelong process so that we can experience greater miracles and produce much more fruit. There’s great freedom in accepting this process and knowing that I’ll never be perfect or never make mistakes. Now I do the best that I can to honor God everyday and have confidence that all my shortcomings are covered by the blood of the Lamb and by God’s grace, mercy and power. There’s great freedom in knowing this truth.** Praise God!!

I’ll be praying that the Lord will bless your pursuit of your ‘carrot’. Please pray for my pursuit too. Thank you so much for your prayers and support! -With love from my heart.

*Matthew 21:44
And whoever falls on this stone will be broken

**John 8:31-32
Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

A day after I posted this blog, I received an audio devotional that spoke about dreaming dreams! Praise God! I wish I can forward you the audio but I can’t seem to. It was excellent. He quoted Acts 2:17. I’m in the old person category now! Lol!

Acts 2:17 (ICB)
God says: In the last days I will give my Spirit freely to all kinds of people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions.
