I’ve been really loving the Passion Translation lately. It’s a newer version and I like to read familiar scriptures using this. Like the whole world, I am also being pulled all over the place with unsettling news, stories, injustices and evils exposed in the highest levels. Scary weather events and interruptions are adding to these pressures immensely.

Whenever I’m overwhelmed I always come back to the topic of love because love centers me back to peace and faith. I also receive wisdom and direction from the Holy Spirit once I’m in this state of peace and faith. I have to quickly recover because of God’s providence, I am in too many leadership roles in my church, communities and our families. Plus I have two teenagers right now. 🤪 They need a stable home life and parents with sound minds.

Last week my husband was upset with me about a private matter. Because he’s not a believer of Jesus Christ, I’ve seen the enemy attack his mind against me. It was one of those moments. Ugh. As I was praying for our unity and love, I read 1 Corinthians 13 in the Passion Translation. I knew what I needed to do. Rather than seek my will and my justice, I sought my husband’s heart humbly. Pretty quickly in a day or so, he warmed up and came back to me in his mind and heart. Unity, peace and love were restored in our marriage.

I look forward to the day when my husband and children become believers of Jesus Christ, and students of the Bible. I have a dream that we will be so united in minds and hearts that our home will be a like a vacation everyday. Probably this is a dream. Now that I know many Christian families, they have their family issues too. There is no perfect family, just like there is no perfect church. From my experiences, Love is the only glue that binds a group together. Therefore I will continue to meditate on love and obey 1 Corinthians 13 as best as I can in all the community groups that God has placed me in to lead. ❤️
