We’ve just entered July. What a roller coaster of a ride it has been for everyone in USA and the world! We are not off the ride yet. 😓🤪
Past month I’ve listened to many Christian leaders and pastors talk about the racial inequality and history of our nation. I’ve educated myself on the history and justice system too. I’m an Asian immigrant turned citizen, and living life in the northeast. And so I didn’t realize how bad it still was for the black Americans in our country and how severe their wounds. Now I know more and care.
I remember about three years ago in our weekly women’s prayer group at church, there was a season of prayer meetings where I’d led our group to pray together for the black men in America to come to Jesus Christ and offer themselves to the services of God as servant leaders in government, business, communities and the church. It was an interesting season of prayer because our group is mostly Asian women. (Our church and neighborhoods have high population of Asians.)
I’ve always wondered about those prayers and today I wonder if the civil unrest in our country is causing the black men to turn to Jesus Christ. Only time and hindsight later on will tell us.
In case you want to learn from Christian perspectives on what is going on in the USA, here are good things that I’ve watched recently. I noticed on my Stats page that there are many international views on my blog. Thank you for visiting!

Candid and raw discussion led by TD Jakes with white evangelical Christian leaders. It was eye-opening and challenging but good to listen. https://youtu.be/xLt7jbJbU_0

After much prayer and one-on-one discussions with my ministry friends about Black Lives Matter, I personally will not be supportive of the Black Lives Matter organization. Their leaders have too much anger and violence within, and their ideologies and statements from their website goes against too many core beliefs in the Bible. My allegiance is foremost to Jesus Christ and God’s word in the Bible. Through my asking, seeking, and knocking; I found an organization lead by godly pastors and leaders that I can fully support. Here is their website: https://civilrighteousness.org/about
As for where I go from here to lift black lives; I’m asking, knocking and seeking the Lord. My influence may be limited but I’ve been using my community leadership positions that God has granted me to steer my asian and white peers to listen. I’m also guiding our women’s prayer meetings to pray together for God’s will to be done on this matter, believing that our prayers are powerful and effective as James 5:16 says. 🙏 I pray that I’ll be able to do more to lift black lives together with the Christian community.
I remember when I was greatly confused about the Black Lives Matter movement and the harsh words of another believer to have me drop my support; in my quiet time I recalled the Good Samaritan story. I decided that I’ll listen to the words of the broken black siblings-in-Christ to see what they need and want from me. They need our voice and support. Our silence hurts them tremendously. It’s okay to make mistakes along the way as you learn to speak but please do speak up. I’m so thankful the Holy Spirit led me to “We Hear You” documentary film and I discovered this civil organization without compromising my Biblical values. Praise the Lord!
Liquid church of New Jersey always has amazing messages and guest speakers, including this pastor from my hometown Queens, New York. 🙂 He talks about the road to justice using the Good Samaritan story. https://liquidchurch.com/messages/friends-of-the-family-series/the-road-to-justice
I hope these resources help you to understand what’s happening in USA from Christian perspectives. Please remember our country in your prayers. We need your prayers of compassion and mercy more than ever. Thank you so much! Here are four good prayer points for America. https://faithinthenews.com/4-ways-you-can-pray-for-america/
It’s not the violence of the few that scares me, it’s the silence of the many.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
Praise God! I just found another Christian group that has been established! https://faithandprejudice.com/
Matthew 7:7-12 Ask, Seek, Knock
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
