20/20 Vision

I came across this photo statement last week and it really stood out to me. Today is 10/31 and as I woke up super early and saw the full moon, it reminded me about this photo and its statement.

I’ve never been interested in politics and therefore rarely prayed for our country and our political leaders. Year 2020 changed my mind permanently and I’ll never be the same. I don’t think I’ll be running for any office but I’ll definitely be leading our prayer groups to intercede continually from now on.

Due to the Confucius influence in Korean history, women were not treated well. Hence, I’d always vote for the political party that favored women’s rights. I never thought to ask God if this was okay since politics wasn’t important to me. Therefore I followed my previous political convictions without any re-evaluation once I came back to following Jesus Christ. Covid-19 pandemic brought our country and the world to a halt since March 2020. Our prayer groups plunged into prayers for our country. As long as I’m leading, I’ll never cease praying for our country.

Because I was praying for our country, the Holy Spirit was also able to readdress my mindset about the issues that is very important to the heart of God. I didn’t know that God grieved so much for the unborn babies aborted in our country. He wants them born! I haven’t shed one tear for the unborn babies and my heart of stone needs to change to a heart of flesh by the Holy Spirit. I’m still waiting for this to happen but in the meantime, I can pray and vote for the political party and leaders who will protect the unborn babies.

In addition because of the many deaths around us, it’s forcing me to think more about the afterlife and the teachings of Jesus Christ about hell and heaven. There are so many questions. I may not get all the answers but at least it’s causing me to pay attention more and pray more passionately for the unsaved, especially my family members.

Another takeaway for me about 2020 is that the second coming of Jesus Christ is truly going to happen. Whether it’s in my lifetime or not, it doesn’t matter. My job is to stay alert and awake, like the ten virgins parable story. I must be in the group that has extra oil with me at all times. I’ve heard and read several sermons on this parable and it just means that you stay connected to God through Jesus Christ, study your bible daily so you can recognize His voice to follow Him, and stay connected to other likeminded believers for accountability, growth and service. You cannot be a lukewarm Christian! Jesus Christ did not die for Christians to be on the fence about Him.

I listened to many excellent sermons in this long period of pandemic isolation and reflections. I’m still listening and learning more. Here are few that you may want to check out.

I’ve heard and read many testimonies of people who have visited heaven. This one is about a visit to hell. It’s super serious stuff! Listen so you’ll get your fire back on praying for your family members and to come out of your lukewarm state! – https://sidroth.org/radio/this-weeks-broadcast/

I’ve been listening to Sid Roth and his guests for at least 8 years now, ever since a ministry friend told me about them. We both were frustrated with the lack of healing and the poor chronic health and mental illnesses of the members in our church. I’ve learned a lot from his guests. I like to listen to their radio interviews rather than see their TV shows because it’s longer and more in-depth plus there are no ad interruption for their new book. Radio interview will only announce it once in the beginning. Here is their radio archives link. Recent ones for 2020 have been about the upcoming election and the last days. I remember hearing in an interview maybe last year or two years ago, that 2020 will be a year of 20/20 vision for the church just like that photo statement posted. Certainly my vision has changed! – https://sidroth.org/radio/radio-archives/
