I have been very heartbroken π about the events at Afghanistan. Especially as a former feminist, I know that the women in Afghanistan will suffer immediately and immeasurably by the Taliban. Christian homes, collaborators with the US and allies are already being targeted and massacred. Generally, the parents and elderly are killed, and their young people will be taken as slaves. As I was seeking the Lord on how to pray for the Christian teenagers in Afghanistan, the Holy Spirit brought to my attention the Bible studies I did on the books of Daniel and Esther. They were Jewish teenagers when taken captive to serve very brutal and powerful empires and kings. I will be praying for the Afghan youth with biblical wisdom in this academic year.
It’s been 20 years since the Taliban had control of Afghanistan. In that time, the demand to rape very young children has skyrocketed due to the internet. I am praying for these little ones, that somehow even the Taliban will see how evil this is and will not sell them to the highest bidders.
Here is an article about the Taliban and how they operate so you can pray persistently and strategically for Afghanistan and their people. https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/9-things-taliban/
Last week in my very low, heartbroken π moment, the Holy Spirit pointed out this bible verse that gave a tiny glimmer of hope. Ephesians 3:13 (NKJV) –Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
My bible had a cross reference to this bible verse which was Philippians 1:14 (NKJV) – and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
Let us believe with hope and faith that God hears our prayers and will act mightily and speedily. James 5:16b (NKJV) – The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
I just watched this interview with a Christian man who orchestrated the second biggest evacuation of Afghans, after the USA government. It was an unbelievable story! It also showed me how much we need to pray together for the many Afghan children that are now orphans and refugees in our country. Iβve read in a local newspaper that many are being settled in my state of NJ too. Holy Spirit, direct our momβs in prayer group to pray powerfully and effectively for them with faith and hope. π – https://ifapray.org/blog/never-before-told-god-stories-from-afghanistan/
