I shared this testimony mainly because of a member’s son Jason who just became saved. He’s a millennial and struggles greatly with depression and loneliness. I told my friend to please share this warning with her son so he gets serious about his faith and becomes rooted in the church and word of God; or else he will become worse off. After sharing I wondered later in the day if I was too strict in my warning. This morning as I was reflecting on my experiences as a youth; nope I needed to be strict because these things are for real and the enemy’s destruction is for real too. We are in a war and I pray that my church will start warning their members more about these spiritual principles in order to protect themselves and be victorious too.
This Monday at our bible study meeting, we were discussing Matthew 12:43-45 where Jesus was teaching about the spiritual principle of an evil spirit who is kicked out of a person. He doesn’t say how the evil spirit was kicked out but he does warn that it will return back to its original host if it doesn’t find another host to enter and live in.
I mentioned to my group that the evil spirit was able to come back to its host joined by seven more evil spirits because the host was unoccupied. Please read this spiritual principle taught by Jesus: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2012&version=NIV;VOICE
Please listen to me very carefully. This exact situation happened to me after I got saved at age 13. After two years of attending church, twice a week on my own initiative; I abruptly stopped going due to loss of faith and as unbelief settled in as we were taught about evolution and Darwinism at the high school. The saddest part was no one, not even our youth pastor reached out to ask why. This made me very sad and eventually I dealt with the pain by being hostile towards all Christians. I’m not sure if an evil spirit can re-enter a saved person but it sure can bring along seven worse spirits to harass and destroy a saved child of God.
As revival continues in college campuses and increase the number of saved individuals, it is imperative that these new converts be supported by mature believers who can help them until they are occupied and rooted in the word of God, and protected in Christian fellowship by mature mentors. Will you be their “brother’s keeper” in this super important season of their lives?
If you have a family member or friend who recently got saved, please warn them that if they do not fill their minds with the word of God then there’s a good chance that they will be worse off than before getting saved. Whether they feel like it or not, they MUST read their Bible every single day, and repent daily to receive God’s mercy, grace and help. Also, any time they are able to listen to a good podcast, please tell them to listen to bible teachers who are out there teaching for free. I like pastors and teachers like Charles Stanley, Francis Chan, Joyce Meyers, Priscilla Shriver, Beth Moore, Tony Evans, Greg Laurie, Robert Morrison, Robert Jeffress, Gary Hamrick, Times Square Church pastors, One for Israel, Amir Tsarfati to name a few that I learn from regularly. (At the end of the year, I donate to the ministries who taught me most through the year. Good teachers and ministries should get paid.)
There is also a good reason why everyone in the church should be involved in caring for these new baby believers – so that they don’t create havoc and mayhem to the community and society at large. My son likes rap music and one of his favorite artist is Kanye West, now his name is Ye. I pray for Ye often because of his pull on my son and his 50 million subscribers on Spotify music. I was thrilled when Ye was saved and saw that his conversion was genuine. But now, everyone can see that Ye is not well and he is creating much mayhem and havoc in society with his harsh antisemitic comments, compliments on Hitler, and his bizarre behaviors. I still pray for Ye often. Please pray for him too.
Ye was big on worship music and even had his own choir. But worship songs are not enough to keep the evil spirits from re-entering a host. You must occupy it with the word of God in the Bible. I highly doubt that Ye was filling his mind with the word of God or had good, godly mentors in his life. Please warn your family members and friends who become saved that now they must do these two things right away without delay:
1. Daily read the Bible and repent if you are convicted by the Holy Spirit.
2. Find a weekly Christian fellowship and attend no matter what. Only death and accidents should prevent you from attending your weekly small group. (Sunday services are good to attend as well, but there is lack of fellowship and accountability which is what is necessary for the new believers.)
Remember Jesus’ warning to all of us from Matthew 12:43-45 – no matter how long you’ve been a believer. Occupy your mind with God’s word and good teachings daily. Eventually some of the words will even enter your heart and produce great freedom and revelation for you. Because I believe Jesus’ warning about the spiritual principal from Matthew 12; I do all these basic things daily. I am also concerned about the mayhem and havoc that I can cause as a 50-year old, law-abiding, self-controlled, parent leader than as a 15-year old teenager with no money and influence. (Remember Martin Luther.)
One more thing – some of these new baby believers may receive the gift of tongues immediately like I did when I got saved. I had no idea what this strange babbling was until I read the New Testament books after the summer retreat. The denomination that this retreat was organized by was Presbyterian and they didn’t teach on these things. You may be surprised to know that I have this gift of tongues since you never heard me say it out loud. Generally, I pray quietly when I praise or pray with my gift of tongues in public because I noticed that it makes many Christian friends tense and nervous. I want them to be comfortable so I refrain myself from speaking loudly. However, when I am in my car alone, I am very loud. One time it sounded like I was speaking Cantonese! I wish I knew what I was praying about. Other great benefit of having this gift of tongues is when I feel like I am in a dangerous situation. When my daughter was learning to drive, I would grab my seat tight and pray quietly in tongues (lol), or more seriously, there are numerous times I sensed real danger or something unholy in a place and that is when I pray with my gift of tongues. I highly value this gift now. Lately, I noticed I pray more with this prayer language because I sense more danger around overall.
Pastor Gary Hamrick recently taught about the gift of tongues and I thought it was excellent if you want to learn more about this supernatural gift. – https://cornerstonechapel.net/teaching/20230212/
This message by pastor R.T. Kendall on Valentine’s Day was excellent too. Please listen to this message to wrap all these new learning with a nice big bow of biblical love.
