I’m so sad to tell you that our principal was not reinstated as principal of the high school after his public hearing on Monday night. He and his lawyers fought a good fight and defended very well.
Whenever I get severely disappointed after much efforts and prayers, I go to the chapters in the Old and New Testament of Habakkuk 3 and John 6. I question God on why did you even bother and ask me to work and pray so hard. It’s okay to pour out your heart, be honest about your disappointments and even ask “why” questions to God. What’s not okay is to walk away from your faith or deliberately sin in that moment of anger and despair.
I’m not an experienced person as some of you are in your faith journey. I’ve been working very hard to stay faithful, available and teachable for the past 13 years under God’s apprenticeship. I’ve given up numerous times and yet somehow managed to only last a day or two of not working for God. It’s good to remember that God is our BOSS. Yes, He is our Heavenly Father but He is our BOSS too. It’s wise to respect and fear Him first and foremost.
Today my conscience is clear and I helped the principal as I was lead to help him. I obeyed God and now I leave the consequences to Almighty God. One more thing when you are employed by Almighty God, you don’t have to be perfect in your job. Besides it is impossible for perfection. Only one man was perfect in his job on earth and that Son of Man is Jesus Christ. The amount of clumsy mistakes that I made due to my emotions, immaturity and inexperience are a lot. However like a good earthly father who employs his precious child for His empire; I’ve seen God clean up my mess and is not harsh with me. I’m more harsh on myself.
Please continue to pray for the principal and his lawyers since it sounds like they will be taking the next steps in legal lawsuits . Also please pray that the principal can find a new and wonderful job as soon as possible since lawsuits can take time. Thank you for your prayers.

Here is a sermon on Habakkuk so you can understand the background of this time period.

This message was excellent too. A good reminder that no matter what, God is good and sovereign.

Whenever I want to quit working in God’s empire and I want to mope for longer than a day or two, sometimes thinking about how many more years I have left on this earth propels me to rise up again and get back to work. I’m 50 years old today and so maybe I have 35 years left if accident or illness doesn’t take me prematurely. I don’t know about you but my highest priority is that when I see Jesus Christ face-to-face in heaven, I am not ashamed that I quit or that I didn’t give him my best on earth in the assignments that he gave me to do.

Corrie ten Boom said, “Don’t bother to give God instructions; just report for duty.” (This is great advice.)
Another good quote by Saint Augustine, “Pray as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you.”
