Hello friends. I’m sure you know that Israel has been invaded and is at war now. This ministry group that I follow provided good prayer points. Please use this guide that’s copied below as you are praying for Israel.
My brother-in-law and his family are stuck in Jerusalem, Israel. They arrived in Israel on Saturday morning as tourists just as the invasion began. Please pray for them and their safe return home. Most flights have been cancelled but now they have a flight to Italy on Wednesday. Please pray that this will happen. Please also pray for my in-laws’ health. They are elderly and this mental stress is having an effect on their health. Also pray that somehow they will be open to receiving the hope of our faith. Their human strength and willpower are not enough.
In my 13 years of ministry work as a layperson in my church, I’ve seen many people come through with incredible amounts of stress during their trials. I’ve had much share as well. When one of us who are followers of Jesus Christ go through the fire or high storms of life; I don’t see anyone drowning or being burnt out as long as they stick it out in a church community. Trials for the Christians make us better, not bitter. Trials may break us but it never crushes us into ashes.
I’ll keep you updated about my brother-in-law and his family. Thank you so much for praying for their safe return home.
Many of you know that God has placed a passion in my heart against human trafficking. I do the A21 walk annually. I’m signed up to walk this Saturday morning at this location if you want to join me there. This is an international event, and so go to their main website if you want to join another walk in a different location nearby you. https://www.a21.org/shop-event.php?intid=3651
Thank you for your prayers for my in-law family members and for Israel. God bless you abundantly.
Psalm 121 (NKJV)
God the Help of Those Who Seek Him
A Song of Ascents.
1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills
From whence comes my help?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.
“Just as it was 50 years ago when Israel was caught unawares for the Yom Kippur War, overnight during Shabbat October 7, on the last day of the Feast of Sukkot, Hamas launched a deadly surprise attack. Thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza reaching beyond Tel Aviv, and setting off sirens in Jerusalem. Worse than that, many terrorists infiltrated the country and have been killing and kidnapping Israelis in several communities in the south of the country. This is not like the troubles we have known in the past, and many of our staff and students have now been called up to the army. It is full scale war. But God was not unaware. He never slumbers or sleeps as He watches over Israel. Please pray for His miraculous intervention at this terrible time. He saved us before and He can save us again.” Dr. Erez Soref, President of ONE FOR ISRAEL
HOW TO PRAY
- Please pray urgently for peace, for deescalation.
- Pray for our northern border—that Hezbollah would not get involved.
- Pray for peace on our streets, and that other Palestinians and Israeli Arabs would not join the Hamas terrorists.
- Pray for all those held hostage right now (some 50-100 Israelis, men, women, elderly and children), for their families, and for swift return.
- Pray that people would turn to God in this terrible time.
- Pray for salvation for everyone involved: civilians on both sides, soldiers and for the terrorists.
- Pray for all our staff and students who have been conscripted to serve in the army—for protection and peace for them and their families.
