My Alex is back home from college for thanksgiving break and currently she is a junior. As I was reading my last update on Alex from December 2022, I am filled with joy and comfort. God is so good and faithful.
Alex went back to college and she was resistant to receiving extra help for her eating disorder and so the only thing that she agreed to was seeing her dietitian there for weigh-ins. We knew during the summer when she was home, that she was regularly binging and purging but there wasn’t much that we could do.
About a month and half ago, a great conflict occurred between her and her apartment mate because of her eating disorder. Long story short, this showed Alex that she needed help. Unfortunately the housemate situation didn’t work out and Alex had to move out. But she is finally open to receiving help and most importantly cooperating too. Despite the long wait for ED therapist, we found someone right away…again. I know this was God’s gift.
Alex told me that recently she was in a campus bathroom and she heard someone purging. This student came out looking embarrassed and shamed. Alex said she understood how bad it is for others witnessing that. She hopes that one day she can help others with their eating disorder too. She said her current therapist had an eating disorder and now using her experiences to help others.
I was really nervous about Alex coming back home since it has been about three months. I wasn’t sure what to expect since she usually comes back to her room and starts banging things around because I had cleaned it up. This time she hasn’t even done that. Plus she keeps her door slightly open rather than close it shut. Wow that’s a big deal!
She is like her former self before the pandemic started. She’s considerate and sweet. I’m marveling at her sudden transformation. Even though my husband didn’t put away any foods this time, I don’t see anything much eaten in the middle of the night. Oh did I mention that she’s eating meat again. She went strict vegan when she developed the eating disorder. Now she is eating meat. Wow.
When my son was being dark and quiet couple of weeks ago I was so nervous that he was going to repeat what Alex went through which started around this time in her junior high school year. A good friend silenced my fears and threw out the lies of the enemy from being planted into my mind and heart by quoting Nahum 1:9.
Nahum 1:9 (NIV)
Whatever they plot against the Lord
he will bring to an end;
trouble will not come a second time.
Amen, amen! Thank you Holy Spirit. ❤️🙏
Evan is fine. He was just being a typical moody teenager. I realize that I need deliverance and recovery from my trauma so that I’m not susceptible to the tactics of the enemy. 😅 I’ll be praying about this for myself. 🙏
As I was reading again the prayers from the CBN prayer partner, it ministered to me again as I am seeing this from the other side now. God is good and so very faithful. Thank you Jesus. Praise you Jesus! There is surely victory in your name and for your people. 🙏❤️🎊
Prayers for Alex by CBN staff, Jabez on 8/14/2021:
Heavenly Father, our Savior and Support. Thank You that our comfort abounds through Christ and nothing in the world can bring us the comfort and peace that You alone can offer. We are praying for Sasha and her daughter right now.
Holy Spirit, we humbly ask for You to speak to Alexandra and be her Guide. We believe that You can see her heart and her condition. May You bless this child with Your protection. May she figure out how to be aware of how she eat foods. Lord, give this child Your guidance and wisdom…
Lord, we ask also that You would bless Sasha with wisdom, as she decides for her daughter’s future. Father, may they continue to seek Your will upon this decision making…
Lord, may Alexandra receive a therapy and counseling. Ready her heart and her mind with this plan. Let her meet new godly Christians and mentors.
Lord, thank You that we can always put our trust in Your hands regarding these prayer concerns…
We believe that Your plans are always good and we put our trust and our hope in the Lord Jesus Christ for this. You said in Your Word that, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging” (Psalm 46:1-3)…
May Sasha and her family continue to feel secured with You by their side. We surrender these concerns to You, O Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Jabez: : I hope this prayer ministered to you today, Sasha.
Jabez: : Please know that God’s plans for your family will always take place through His perfect time.
Psalm 42:8 ❤️✝️
The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me— A prayer to the God of my life.
