It seems that the Holy Spirit wants to focus on the topic of healing and miracles. In case you don’t know this, Dodie Osteen and her husband, John are the founding members of the super-mega Lakewood church in Dallas, Texas. Their son, Joel took over the church as the lead pastor when his dad passed away.
Dodie Osteen had terminal cancer when she was a young mom and she was released from the hospital because there was nothing more the medical team could do about her cancer. Her strategy to combat this war against her body was the same that others who also won their victory – they stood firm on the word of God and fought back against the war in their minds by the enemy. I’d like to also point out that these two women were already planted deeply in a church community. Therefore, they were receiving a tremendous number of prayers and support from many saints too. This is why we must look for a church community to belong to and make relationships in there. This is one core thing that my college church stressed and I am grateful for this lesson drilled in me. This is why when I was compelled by the Holy Spirit to return back to my faith journey 13 years ago; looking for a home church was the very first thing that I took care of. I visited many churches in our area and my church is where I was led to make roots and plant myself in. This church is where I serve and make connections in until God says go. This is a super important decision so you must ask prayers from mature believers before you make your move. In my opinion, any home church move also requires confirmation from the Bible too. That’s how important this decision is.
Our pastors will have to answer to our Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ one day in heaven on how they led and taught His sheep (aka His children) under their care. Let us pray for them and their families continually because it is a very serious calling. Ministry work is incredibly hard and emotional work. I don’t get paid but trust me, it is tough work. I am thankful to anyone who says yes to God and go into full-time ministry.
Speaking about pastors, in this sermon, pastor Tim gives statistics on how much pornography has infiltrated the church including the pastors. He also gives strategy on how to get deliverance and freedom from porn. As a warrior against human trafficking, mainly child sexual trafficking I know that so much porn is produced in USA. Porn is so demonic and evil that consumers of porn need fresh content and new faces all the time. This is why porn industry has grown like a cancer and now is bigger in annual revenue than major sports industries. It is a powerful influencer of our culture and a cancer to the church, and I would not be surprised in our government leaders too. We must dry up the demand. According to pastor Tim, it is done by prayer inside the church. I will be upping my intercession for the church and country on pornography if that is the main way to dry up the demand of sexual trafficking. This is one battlefield that the Lord has commissioned me to be on since I came back to my faith journey.

In the meantime, we need physically healthy church congregants. Even if you are healthy today, please learn how these ladies fought and won healing and miracles for their physical bodies. In both cases, cancer came to their bodies unexpectedly and suddenly. Let’s lean in and learn from their stories.
