Last week my prayer group tried something new. It was one of my co-leader’s son’s birthday and at the end of the prayer meeting, we prayed for him while my co-leader was recording our prayers for him. She shared the prayers with her son and reported back to us that he was immensely blessed by our prayers! Praise the Lord Jesus! I have been thinking about how we can bless the children in our midst more. I thank God that we found a new way to bless them.
When I was starting to get plugged into my college church, I was attending an off campus Bible study home group on Tuesday nights. I still remember that one time when the leaders of the home group were praying for all the college students. I’m not sure why they did this that night but I remember it was a very special night. Mr. Gilchrist had a prophetic message for me too. I wish I had a recording of what he said. I don’t remember much other than crying because I sensed God’s love in a very powerful way. The only thing that I recall from the prophetic word is that I’m going to Tanzania one day to do some work for God. I haven’t forgotten about Tanzania after all these years. I saw this documentary about Tanzania if anyone is interested in learning more about this country. It’s a beautiful country and people. They have a female president too!
People need to hear from God, not just learn about God. This is what the prophets are supposed to do for us, in a nutshell. As I’m reading through the Bible again, this time around the Holy Spirit is opening my eyes to how the prophets are to be functioning in behalf of God’s people. Only couple of years ago, I was closed to modern day prophets because I was concerned that this kind of supernatural gift would steer people away from reading and studying the Holy Bible. Today I don’t think that anymore. I am reminded about the prophetic prayer that I received in college. It accelerated me into getting plugged in my college church when I had other options and relationships as a young person. It is my opinion today, that people need that kind of supernatural communication to accelerate their faith, maturity and obedience to God. Following Jesus and His teachings in the Bible are not easy. It’s a daily death to self-will.
Our short time on this earth passes by quickly. Next month I’ll be 52 and so I have about 30 years left if accident or illness don’t take me earlier. It’s very important to keep our eyes on our final destination so that when times are tough you won’t abandon your faith.

For those who are reading the book of Daniel with me, here is chapter 4. I like to first read in a word-for-word translation like the ESV, NKJV or NASB versions; and then after read in a more paraphrase versions like NLT, VOICE, MSG or TLB because they are easier to understand. Dr. Billy Graham was once asked which Bible version was his favorite. He said “the one that you read.” Great answer! Please read/study your Bible daily. In the last 13 years, I’ve never ever taken a single day off from reading the Holy Bible. This is my spiritual food and water. It’s more important than physical food and water in my opinion.

Here is Pastor Gary Hamrick’s teaching on Daniel chapter 4. It’s a warning for all of us about how dangerous pride is. As my revelations increase due to experiences and Bible knowledge, I always have to be very careful of pride. It was good to be reminded of what happened to King Nebuchadnezzar when he became very proud. Please daily pull out the weeds of pride and since we can choose our friends, stay away from prideful friends.
There’s a revival happening in another big university! Praise the Lord Jesus! Please read this article and also pray for U of Tennessee. These newborn believers need to get plugged into a local church and campus ministries. They are like baby lambs right now and need to get plugged into a good Bible-based church community for their protection and safety from dangerous wolves. God has given me a burden to pray and intercede for celebrities and the entertainment industry. A ministry friend told me about Shawn Bolz podcast. I now listen to him to help me to pray for celebrities and culture. He does a good recap of the entertainment industry from a Christian perspective. In this podcast, he talked about UAPs. Since this topic keeps on coming up more, I want you to understand what the Bible teaches about these extraterrestrial beings and UAPs. He also shared in this podcast about a time he needed healing from a back injury caused by a bad car accident. It was a very good testimony to hear and learn from.
