Hi friends. If you are reading the book of Daniel with me, here is the next chapter 5. You know the phrase “writing on the wall”? It is from this chapter! Pastor Gary Hamrick also gives a very detailed historical account about the night of this spiritual decree from heaven.
Speaking about “writing on the wall”, are you paying attention to the signs, circumstances, dreams/visions that God uses to get your attention? I discovered that when I am not reading and obeying the instructions in the Bible when God speaks to me in a gentle way; then He will use more serious ways to get my attention. Please do heed His voice when he speaks to you softly. That’s my advice to you as a fellow sojourner in this long faith journey.
Throughout history, many would see unusual heavenly events and harsh weathers as signs of the gods to get human attention. I don’t understand why many Christians don’t do this today, perhaps we have become too secular and proud with our affluence and higher ed degrees. Being a student of the Holy Bible for over 13 years, I see how God is both severe and very merciful. There have been so many warning signs in our heavens and weather patterns lately. The secular world will claim that it is all global warming etc., and yes, our pollution has contributed to the climate crisis but as a spiritual person who knows the Bible very well from studying it so much; I mainly see these events as God’s wake up calls to a sleeping and wayward church.
Here is a short devotional on King Josiah of Judah who understood the judgement of God upon his people after discovering and reading the word of God for himself. He was a teenager when he became king, and he used his authority to teach his people and destroy the sins rampant in his people, and ultimately God’s hand of judgement was stayed while he was the king.
In our intercessions, we often repent for ourselves, the church and for our country. I don’t know what is going to happen to America but there are many, many “writings on the wall” against us. I hope you realize that. Please pray for God’s mercy upon ourselves, our churches and our country.
Yesterday I was speaking with a church mom whose son is being taught in his science class that the eye developed over millions of years by evolution. Here is a short video of an atheist eye surgeon who became a believer of Jesus Christ because of his studies on the human eye. There’s a movie made about his life if you want to see it with your children. (I had to take a human anatomy class in graduate school. It was a very hard course and I learned a lot. My biggest takeaway after this class was that there is no way our bodies developed by evolution and chance.)
Atheist Eye Surgeon Finds Christ
Speaking about another super smart atheist who became a believer of Jesus Christ – Lee Strobel is an award-winning investigative journalist who got so upset by his wife’s conversion that he set out to debunk Christianity and Jesus Christ. Along the way, he became a believer too. He wrote a book about his experiences and there’s a movie as well. Here is his ministry website:
I know that my message is heavy today. A prayer intercessor is kind of like being a weather meteorologist; when I see what is coming ahead, I am compelled to warn those nearby me to take cover. Let us find our cover in our Lord Jesus Christ. His name is a safe fortress. Please inform your loved ones to call upon the name of Jesus in times of danger and distress. He will always save and protect those who call upon his name, regardless of your belief and background.
