This past weekend, I went to my friend’s church when they hosted a prophetic minister, Julian Adams. I only attended for a short time but I am very glad that I went. Whenever I listen to a prophetic minister, it feels like I am drinking from a firehose and my puny 8-pound brain gets overwhelmed quickly. (If you hear about a prophetic minister coming to your church or another church nearby, please make sure that you already see good spiritual fruit, humility and solid biblical knowledge from the person who recommended this prophet to you.)
The prophet, Julian Adams offers online classes to help you develop your prophetic skills. He is originally from South Africa and now lives in Boston, Massachusetts. His comparisons between the Christians of South Africa and USA were very interesting too.
Here are my notes if you want to reflect on them:
- Prophetic ministry should look like “Jesus”.
- Prophecy should not be like a noose around your neck.
- Sanctification is not an individual exercise. It is a community exercise within a church.
- Truth is a person – Jesus; not a doctrine or ideology.
- Angels always point us to Jesus. If not, then this is a demon. Then run away from that.
- Ask God to open my eyes to see the angels who are working with me.
- Don’t go to a prayer meeting and ask for things that are already ours (that God has already given us).
- God does not want to control you. He wants a relationship with you.
- Condition of your heart is very important to receive revelation. (Deal with your heart junk and keep your heart pure and soft.)
Here is his blog about what is prophecy and why it matters.
What is Prophecy… and why does it matter?
Here is my friend’s church. Washington Crossing, PA is a nice town with many great restaurants there if you want to go visit the church and have lunch afterwards. Their worship service is long but in my experiences that’s where the Holy Spirit can finally speak to you spirit-to-spirit. The world and its cares get us all stuck on “miry clay” and it takes a while to get us cleaned up and to hear what the Holy Spirit wants to say to us. So please attend their long worship service – close your eyes, rest and wait to hear from God.
Coincidentally, my New Testament bible reading plan this weekend were 1 Corinthians 12-14 which is all about spiritual gifts. Furthermore, Sunday, 5/19 was Pentecost Sunday! I didn’t realize there was a holiday called Pentecost Sunday to remember what happened in the early church. Please read 1 Corinthians 12-14 and these two articles about Pentecost.

The story of the women of Pentecost
This article was very encouraging. Apparently, in many countries Christianity is increasing! This is what Julian Adams said too. Praise the Lord!
I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord. – Psalm 40:1-3 (NKJV)
