Just like my salvation was a gift, so was the gift of tongues. I always had it from day one. I had no idea what it was and unfortunately no one told me what happened to me in that middle school summer retreat. Once the novelty wore off, I rarely spoke this supernatural language because I thought it sounded ridiculous (I’m sure a thought planted by the enemy). 13 years ago, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could still speak this heavenly language. I knew that it was a gift from God for me but still, I rarely spoke it because my mind would wander. The only time that I would pray in tongues was when I sensed danger and evil, or when I was in deep corporate worship.
After hearing this pastor’s story and research studies, I’m going to pray in tongues more. This pastor’s church in North Carolina has been experiencing revival with incredible healing and miracles for several years. In this interview he shared a story of a woman who came for prayer for her husband because he was too sick to make the trip there. She received prayers for him and he got healed from terminal cancer!
