Hello friends. Tonight, I couldn’t sleep and when I was woken up around 2:30am and I couldn’t go back to sleep, I have learned to get out of bed and seek out God on why. Usually, it’s to intercede for someone or for an emergency somewhere. Today it was for my correction! I was under great conviction regarding my lack of self-control over my words recently. I thank the Lord Jesus for his blessing of correction! I realized that I have been agreeing with the devil rather than God’s words when I was conversing with people. I have repented over this sin and want to share key insights with you so that you will not make the grave mistakes that I made recently.
News and events around the world have been very dark, depressing and chaotic. And so, I understand why our thoughts have been very negative these days. But there is no excuse for us, as the children of God to speak out faithless words so carelessly. Why? Because our future is at stake. It is imperative that we speak faith-filled words or at the very least, don’t speak at all until you have great control over your words.
I had to learn great control over my words in the first few years back with the Lord because I had a terrible temper. My words were very destructive and hurtful during these temper tantrums. I thought that I learned great self-control and didn’t really have to worry about it anymore but I saw this early morning that I needed to go back to re-learning the basics about having self-restraint when speaking. I am so grateful and thankful to the Holy Spirit for the conviction of my great sin.
Here are some Bible verses about the power of our words. Meditate on these verses and let them warn you about carelessly talking about your problems with family members, close friends or therapist.

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. – Proverbs 18:21 (NIV)
“If anyone thinks himself to be religious, yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless. Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world” – James 1:26-27 (NASB)
This insight really stood out to me when I read this devotional this morning:
“God has delegated authority here on earth to you. Your words have authority to create every time you speak, not just when you pray. If you speak positive results in prayer and negative results the rest of the time, your negative words will prevail.”

(😱 All my hard work in prayer and intercession will come to nothing by my careless, neglectful words spoken during my off-duty time!! It reminded me of war posters that I saw in the Winston Churchill museum in London. It said things like “Loose lips sink ships.” Or “Keep mum, she’s not so dumb. Careless words cost lives.” And it’s a picture of a very pretty young woman in a tight-fitting dress, flirting with military British officers, implying that she is a Nazi spy. It is hard to forget these phrases.)
I read this devotional and I was struck by what Pastor David Wilkerson said – the Israel’s spies spoke lies. I thought they were just reporting the facts after surveying the promised land. I highly respect David Wilkerson and his teachings. Let’s keep our mouth closed when faithless words want to come up to the surface. I wonder what would have happened if the spies just kept their mouths shut from speaking the “facts” or “lies” according to David Wilkerson; and only Joshua and Caleb spoke their words of faith…my guess is that they would have all entered the promised land together.

I’m in such conviction right now about so many faithless words that I have slipped out during this summer. This stops now! I will be silent 🤐 and not speak when faithless words want to come out of my mouth. By the way, I am not saying that you stuff down your struggles and problems, and put your head in the sand about them. I have learned that you are to pour out your anguish and struggles onto God during your quiet times; and then ask few trusted, mature believers to pray for you until you have your victory. Until your victory comes, please be very careful what you say about your problems. Remember that clever phrase “loose lips sink ships.” The ship is your life, relationships and ministry.
Here is a gist of what happened to the entire generation that spoke faithless words. Only Caleb and Joshua made it across to the promised land after 40 years wandering in the wilderness. Only Caleb and Joshua lead the new young generation into the promised land.
Speaking about the youth, there’s a revival happening in Ohio State! Wow. Here is their student newspaper article about it. Let’s be praying for them and that secular news will cover their story too.

This young guest’s story on Sid Roth’s show really touched me. Like him, I always felt like a spiritual orphan. As I was thinking about that this morning, I felt the Holy Spirit reassuring me that I just don’t have an extra layer of middle management. Lol. It’s just like the Holy Spirit to show us that in Jesus, our weaknesses are our strengths. 🙂 Here is his testimony. God is moving mightily in our young people! Let us be like Caleb and Joshua who led the youth into the promised land!

8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. – 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 (NKJV)
