Back to School Prayers +Testimonies + Gift of Tongues

Hello friends. I’m a very safety-minded person. Because of my inclination for safety, I keep alert on what I can do to protect myself and my loved ones. I’ve learned that the highest form of protection in this world is by our prayers through Jesus Christ. Praying corporately is even more effective and powerful than praying solo. That’s why I am so disciplined about organizing corporate prayer meetings.

Public schools are back in session this week. Please listen to this prayer service with your kids, if they are willing to listen and receive the prayers. Even if they don’t believe and care, you can hear and receive these prayers for your children and grandchildren. The prayer service has staggered prayers for Grades K-5, Middle, High, College and then anyone that works in education. Prayers start around minute 40. They offer powerful prayers for each group by their ministry team leaders.

My daughter attends Indiana University. We have been praying together weekly on Friday mornings at 9am by phone. We resumed back this past Friday. I write a short recap of prayer points that came up so other IU parents in our group can pray on their own for these broader issues. You can also use this list to pray for your child’s college:

• Re-energize and strengthen the faith of Christian staff, employees and others who work with IU students.  Encourage them, and give them renewed hope and perseverance!

• Thank you for loving our children and grandchildren so, so much that you made us into praying parents.  Help us to renew our faith and perseverance to pray and never give up!

• Our group has been praying weekly for couple of years now.  May this year be the ‘Year of Jubilee’ when the people are set free; and there are supernatural deliverances, healing and miracles manifested in our children and at IU.

• Protect especially the Freshmen Class, and all students from predators and wolves.  May they and everyone else stay away from cult groups (religious, political, social, etc.) that separate them from their family members who love them.

• Give discernment and revelation to our children/grandchildren and IU students if anyone is involved with abusive and manipulative romantic partners and friends.  Give courage and will-power to remove themselves from destructive romantic partners and friends.

• Protection of students who are using drugs and abusing alcohol.  We prayed for no loss of life and that they will get the help that they need and be set free.

I love listening to testimonies. This guy’s story is amazing. His godly foster parents’ influence and prayers in the first 12 years of his life saved him from drugs and many other dangers in his lifetime (his biological mom pulled him out of his foster parents’ home at age 12). Later, he was also given an enormous opportunity to go into commercial real estate without a college degree and he became very successful. He knows that it was the power of his foster parents’ prayers that carried him safely back to God when he was far, far away for a long while too. Please listen to his incredible story and be inspired to keep on praying for your children and grandchildren and to never, ever give up praying for them. If you fostered children and wonder if they are impacted by your prayers, please listen to his testimony. He gives credit to his foster parents for his protection, safety and favor in his life. Please know that God is good and faithful, and he will always remember your prayers for your children, grandchildren and other children that he brings into your life and ministry. That is why they are brought into your care for a season. Please don’t underestimate the impact of your influence and prayers.

Here are more testimonies about supernatural healing by a healing ministry. If you are suffering physically, please reach out to them for prayers. They specialize in healing. There’s also an exert in here from AW Tozer, a very influential figure in the evangelical church. He was a pastor for a Christian Missionary Alliance church, which our church is affiliated with.

I just heard this podcast and it really caught my attention. I have the gift of tongues (I received it from the first day of my salvation without asking or knowing what it is). I rarely use my gift of tongues because my mind gets bored and wanders since I have no idea what I’m saying. After hearing this podcast I am definitely going to pray in tongues more because he said it reigns in our speech which I always need help in. Please hear other ways the gift of tongues can help you.

When You Pray in Tongues, THIS Happens in the Spirit – Day 15 of 21 Days of Prayer

One more thing about the gift of tongues and why I think every Christian should ask for it – whenever I sense danger; I rely upon this supernatural prayer gift. I don’t know what happens in the spiritual realm but I truly believe it has protected me from dangerous situation and people. I think believers should be more open to the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit.

This morning as I was praying with my gift of tongues, I heard within my spirit that this gift is essential for those without praying parents and grandparents. Because they will receive perfect prayers from the Holy Spirit. I could have used that information when I was saved at a summer retreat in middle school.

Below are some quotes from teachers and leaders of our faith about the importance of prayer and intercession to inspire us for another new semester of prayer work.

“Prayer is the Christian’s greatest weapon.” – Billy Graham

“To be an intercessor is the highest calling.  Man will not see you, but heaven is rejoicing!” – Derek Prince

“I am the 8th generation of preachers, that dates all the way back to the Civil War. My father taught me to pray. He said, ‘David, Elijah had 24 hours a day, just like you, and he prayed. So you find a way to pray.’ And then he would add, ’God always makes a way for a praying man.’ ” —David Wilkerson

“If you are a stranger to prayer, you are a stranger to the greatest source of power known to human beings.”—Billy Sunday

“Beware in your prayers, above everything else, of limiting God, not only by unbelief, but by fancying that you know what He can do.” – Andrew Murray

“When the devil sees a man or woman who really believes in prayer, who knows how to pray, and who really does pray, and above all, when he sees a whole church in its face before God in prayer, he trembles as much as he ever did, for he knows that his day in that church or community is at an end.” – R.A. Torrey

“While the prayerless run helter skelter, to and fro, attempting great things, the praying Christian is hard at work moving kingdoms, shattering strongholds—and, in the process, becoming a giant with God!” – David Wilkerson

“Our prayers lay the track down on which God’s power can come. Like a mighty locomotive, His power is irresistible, but it cannot reach us without rails.” – Watchman Nee

“As the students go, so goes our nation! If we win the spiritual battles across our nation but neglect our college campuses, all our progress will be undone in a generation. Therefore, students today need our support and earnest prayers… Without a greater degree of genuine, unified prayer, our hopes and dreams for this generation may never be realized.” – Francis Chan
