Hello friends. I was speaking with a friend recently on how I navigated through some very difficult relationships and seasons. I realized that it was as simple as “just stay put.” That means I don’t make any changes in my position and plans during this period of distress. And if I do sense that I need to make a change then I surround myself with wise people in the church who can pray for me and advise me. I also wait for confirmation from God through the Bible. In very important matters, I notice that I receive signs from my surroundings or from the preaching of God’s Word or even a dream or visions or impressions during personal and corporate prayer times. Mainly, I rely upon God’s instructions in the Bible since signs can be disceptive and the enemy can use signs to mislead you.
I sense that this November will be a difficult month for our country. That means the enemy is going to work very hard to make you severe your relationships in the church, family and friends. It’s very important that you “just stay put” in your church community and in your relationships. If it means to step back a little socially that’s okay but do not severe any relationships during this month.
Tony Nieuwhof has a great cheat sheet for marriage that is in conflict. I think this good advice sheet works for any relationships. Please save this sheet and even print it out for frequent reference.

I believe that this month can be a great opportunity for us as believers to shine as a light to the world that we are able to keep unity and be peacemakers in our families and communities.
If you make mistakes, please just run to God and seek His help and guidance. I still have a hot temper. Only way I can seem to control this side of my flesh is by reading the Bible and spending time in prayer in the morning before I start my day. Another thing that works for me is by having a long view on how I want to finish my life. Here is a short article about Billy Graham’s mother and the lessons that she taught him.

(Lesson # 7 really speaks to me. ❤️)
Finish Well
Although the testimony of my mother’s life helped mold me and taught me how to live, the testimony of her last years and her death gave me insight into how to die,” Billy Graham wrote.
In her later years, when her health declined and her husband had passed away, Morrow Graham made a point of praying and listening to Scripture every morning.
“On Aug. 14, 1981, she quietly left this earth in her sleep and entered Heaven,” Billy Graham wrote.
“When word came, I wept and yet rejoiced at the same time. Of all the people I have ever known, she had the greatest influence on me. I am sure one reason that the Lord has directed and safeguarded me, as well as Ruth and the children, through the years was the prayers of my mother and father.”

My son was born in 2006 and so I was going through the TSC sermons of that year to see what they were preaching about. I’ve heard about five and each one has blessed me tremendously. The message has stories about the passing of his father-in-law. I’ve never heard anything like that before. It’s amazing how he passed away. Something to think about and pray for if that’s how you’d like to pass this earth before heaven. I’m pondering and praying about it. http://sermons.tsc.nyc/the-goodness-of-the-lord-in-the-land-of-the-living/
A great message about heaven from Pastor David Wilkerson, founder of TSC. http://sermons.tsc.nyc/heaven/
Ecclesiastes 7:2-4 (NLT)
Better to spend your time at funerals than at parties. After all, everyone dies—so the living should take this to heart.
Sorrow is better than laughter, for sadness has a refining influence on us.
A wise person thinks a lot about death, while a fool thinks only about having a good time.

Whatever happens in this election and in this November month, let us remember the wise words of the prophet Daniel.
Daniel 2:20-21: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.”
Recently someone shared with me Dale Carnegie’s method on how to stop worrying. Holy Spirit taught me to use this method on my tough situations and relationships. I didn’t realize that it was a method that was shared by Dale Carnegie. He was a motivational and self-help leader of his generation. Here is his 10 step summary. Anyway, it worked for me to calm down enough to pray and “just stay put”. Please check out this short summary and perhaps read his book too.

Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love. It destroys community and makes brotherhood impossible. It leaves society in monologue rather than dialogue. Violence ends by destroying itself. It creates bitterness in the survivors and brutality in the destroyers.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
