Alice Cooper + Time-tested testimonies of God’s love and faithfulness + KISS + Demystifying World Religions + True Girl Ministry + Peace with God

I was thinking about Alice Cooper yesterday and discovered that Pastor Greg Laurie came out with a new interview with Alice Cooper that is 30 minutes long. He was quite a controversial entertainer of my generation with his satanic looks and performances. He and his wife are both pastor’s kids. That tells you that no matter how far someone appears to have gone away from their upbringing, God is faithful. Don’t ever stop praying and believing for your children and grandchildren.

Subject: Time-tested testimonies of God’s love and faithfulness + KISS + Demystifying World Religions + True Girl Ministry + Peace with God

Hello ladies!

I love reading and listening to testimonies of God’s love and faithfulness especially by older people in the faith.  I heard that my grandmother in my mom’s side was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.  Since we lived in the USA, we didn’t get to know her well.  My mom would share stories with me that her mom would attend her local church’s early morning prayers later in her life.  Perhaps my ease of waking up early to do my quiet time comes from my grandmother.

If like me, you also did not observe closely someone who lived life for Jesus Christ, then you must seek out stories shared by other elderly believers.  It is so powerful to hear about God’s goodness and faithfulness over a lifetime by a mature follower of Jesus Christ.  Their stories are so faith-building and give us guidance on how we should live and follow in their footsteps if we desire their ending.

1. About a month ago, my husband was watching a documentary about the rock and roll band KISS.  They are in their early 70s now.  KISS members had everything that the world can give – fame, fortune, fan adorations, crazy parties, drugs and lots of sex.  After watching their stories, I realized how much I don’t desire their ending and legacy.  I also didn’t know this but two of the main KISS band members are Jewish.  I’ve noticed whenever a Jewish or a Muslim person gets saved and starts following Jesus Christ, they become very brave evangelist.  Since being brave is a challenge for me, I recognize and value those who are brave.  The church sure needs more courageous evangelists!  Let’s pray for KISS members to become saved and be evangelist for Jesus Christ.

If you are interested in watching KISS biography, here it is.  It was quite entertaining and interesting.  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14547008/

By the way, one of their rock-and-roll peers, Alice Cooper became an outspoken follower of Jesus Christ.  Alice Cooper grew up as a pastor’s kid.  I know, wow.  He’s a hardcore evangelist today.  Let’s pray that Alice Cooper will reach out to the KISS members, Ozzy Osborne, and all the heavy metal celebrities that you can think of from the 80s and 90s. Since these guys are in their 70s now, they may be more open to hearing about Jesus Christ.

There are many YouTube videos of Alice Cooper sharing how he turned back to God if you want to hear his testimony more.  Here’s an article about Alice Cooper’s faith:

Frankly, I think it’s extremely hard to be famous and wealthy.  I am thankful that I am not.

Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. —Proverbs 30:8

I am not sure what to think about Alice Cooper since he still performs in his heavy metal band that has dark lyrics.  I will pray for him as I have been praying for Kanye West and many other rappers (my son likes rap music).  Please pray for your children’s celebrities that they follow.  Many other young people are listening and following them too.  I am being convicted by the Holy Spirit that if I am busy judging their lyrics, lifestyles etc. then I am wasting my mind and speech.  I need to be praying for them.

2. I came across this lady’s blog recently.  She was Miss America in 1983.  Maybe it’s because I met Miss NJ 2022 recently but anyway, her story caught my attention.  I have to share with the younger ladies in our group that ever since I entered late 40s, something happened to my body suddenly.  Now my skin is losing its elasticity and firmness.  My hair is turning white and falling off a lot more too.  I am 50 this year and I am sooo glad that my foundation is on Jesus.  Or else I think I would be getting very depressed about aging.  I understand why people without Jesus have mid-life crisis to hold onto their fleeting youth.  BUT if you follow Jesus Christ, stay in the church community, read your Bible daily, repent and forgive others and yourself everyday; then this crisis should not be something that you experience.  Read this former beauty queen’s blogs to read and reflect about the fleeting aspect of beauty and youth.  Preparation is key to not getting depressed about aging.

It is also very important to have a clear vision of your ending/legacy in your mind.  Then no matter what life throws at you and your family, your vision will keep you anchored and unmovable.  I read that movie directors shoot the beginning and the ending of the movie first.  Then after, they start filming all the middle scenes.  This totally makes sense.  So, think hard about what you want for your ending legacy.  Do research on the lives of people you’d like to follow.  I have done my homework and wrestled a lot in my mind and soul.  I have made my decision – I want my ending to be one of these everyday saints of Jesus Christ.

3.  This is a FREE resource on demystifying world religions by Axis ministry for Christian parents with teenagers.  If like me, you didn’t have any particular religion handed down to you then you must do homework to make a decision on which one is truth.  Your children and grandchildren will have these questions too.  This resource would be a great way to do the research together, have Q and A and prayers after.  In the Jewish tradition, a child becomes an adult at ages 12 or 13 and so religious fathers would take their assignment very seriously and try to teach their children as much as possible before their Bar/Bat Mitzvahs.  Yes, it’s the dad’s major responsibility to lead and guide these studies at home for the devout Jewish families.

4.  One of our group members shared this ministry for moms with young girls and tweens.  Please check this ministry out and see if there’s something that you can do with your daughters and nieces.  I sent my children to Hebrew school to have their Bat/Bar Mitzvahs.  This was what I was led to do by the Holy Spirit.  One day when I was feeling sad that my children are not believers yet and wondering if I had done enough or perhaps that I was not pushy enough; the Holy Spirit comforted me by reminding me that I always turned-on Christian radio stations on in my car rides when they were young.  Even if I thought they were not listening to the songs and sermons, they were since during those days they didn’t have iPhones and I also had a very good handle on how they used the internet.  I hope that this ministry helps you to sow as many seeds as possible before your girls become 12 (age for girls to womanhood in the Jewish tradition).  https://mytruegirl.com/about/

5.  Great prayers and reminders to pray daily for your children, grandchildren and their peers. https://www.ibelieve.com/motherhood/a-prayer-to-pray-over-your-children-each-morning.html
