What to look for in a home church + Bible Recap + Tim Keller + Security guard vision

Hello everyone! I was reminded about this special vision that I received during corporate prayer time. It was good to read it again since there are a lot of unsettling events that are happening in our country and throughout the world. There’s also a reminder below on why Mother Teresa would stop everything during her very busy day to get away and pray. I sometimes get doubtful thoughts about my work of prayer and intercession. It is good to be reminded from faith-giants like Mother Teresa that prayer is super important in God’s kingdom.

As mothers and grandmothers, we are often praying for our children and grandchildren’s safety and protection. Please do not stop praying. Your prayers do matter. Whenever my faith is shaky, puny and discouraged, I have to ask others to pray for me. This is why it’s very important to join a good church and develop friendships in there before that happens.

I’m sure many of know this already but sometimes it’s good to review the basics. I like this writer’s good advice in the end about what to look for when looking for a home church. Remember that there is no perfect church, however you need to be wise on some basic criteria.

I did Bible Recap several years ago and it was very helpful. They just started reading the Bible again. If you missed reading the earlier chapters, no worries. Just hear her recaps from last week and then read or listen to the missed Bible chapters later when you have more time.

Biblegateway.comoffers free audio bible readings. Sometimes when I don’t want to read, I like to listen to the Bible. I am enjoying their NIV dramatized audio Bible.

FYI – I saw this college football game recently. It was a nail biter game going into overtime. I remember seeing these two players kneeling together after the game and it crossed my mind that perhaps they were praying but I wasn’t sure. Yes they were praying!!

Pastor Tim Keller was a very good Bible teacher. He died over a year ago and there haven’t been any ugly skeletons around him or his ministry that came out. Yay, Praise God! He taught many young professionals in his church in NYC. I would have loved his style of teaching as a young business professional. His legacy and teachings move onwards and being shared with the next generation. Please check out this very good message about Jesus Christ, delivered in February 2005. It was excellent. Perhaps your adult children will appreciate his wisdom and knowledge too.

Security Guard Vision

Yesterday was my Bible study group’s last meeting for the semester and we all took turns to praise and pray after our Bible study discussion. While the other ladies were praying I saw this vision in my mind that I’d like to share with you. Please read my vision and ponder it.

In my vision, I saw that we were like the security guards of our homes and workplaces. As we were praying, I saw us locking up the doors so that evil intruders and evildoers could not enter our homes and workplaces that we occupy. Some of us were confident security guards because of our belief in prayers. Some of us looked anxious and scared and were not very confident guards; but still received the same outcome of good security because they showed up to pray. We all achieve the same goal of securing our homes and workplaces when we pray. The Holy Spirit gently challenged me to be the security guard who has more confidence and faith in my prayer work. Whenever I am available, I always show up to pray daily and corporately but I admit that I need more help with my confidence and belief in prayers. Nevertheless I felt the Holy Spirit’s assurance and encouragement that Jesus sees our faithfulness, availability and teachability. Jesus Christ is a rewarder of our faith and work.

Psalm 27 also came into my mind during this time of my vision. I pray that it will bless and encourage you as you meditate on God’s word and promises for you, your family and workplaces.

I also am thinking about this Psalm 127 as I am writing to share this vision with you. May it strengthen your heart too.

Here is a nice short blog about the power of prayer.

Good quotes and stories about prayer:

When Mother Teresa was alive, many who visited her and her Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta were surprised that every lunchtime they left their life-sustaining work in dispensaries and in the home for the dying.

“Why do you go back so soon and not stay longer? Where do you go?”

Mother Teresa responded, “We go to pray. We have learned that to work without prayer is to achieve only what is humanly possible and our desire is to be involved in divine possibilities.”

“Prayer was never intended to be our last resort. It was always intended to be our first line of defense. It is a powerful tool that grants us access to the Creator of the Universe, who loves us very much and cares about our well-being.”

“The wonderful thing about praying is that you leave a world of not being able to do something, and enter God’s realm where everything is possible. He specializes in the impossible. Nothing is too great for His Almighty power, nothing is too small for His love.”

I just learned that it is Billy Graham’s 50th anniversary to his first visit to South Korea 🇰🇷. This news link has the old video clip if you’d like to see it. It was very inspiring.
