Palestine: Christian Perspectives, Feb. 15 + Conference at Princeton Seminary, March 7-8 + Healing Rooms Ministry

Hello friends. Below are a couple of events that you might want to attend. They are virtual meetings.

1. This Saturday, 2/15 at 9am EST, my friend Prudence and her ministry group is hosting a pastor who served in Palestine for over 20 years. (Prudence and I were co-leaders for a Bible study group for a couple of years.) It’ll be valuable to hear from him. Please see this invitation to join by zoom. All are welcome.

“Palestine has been reduced to rubble and up to two million Palestinians displaced. Is there any hope for peace and a better future for all in the Holy Land? You may have read the headlines but we are blessed to have time with a Christian pastor Andrew Bush who has lived and served the Lord in Palestine for over 20 years.”Please  share the attached invitation with QR code for a zoom link to the meeting. There will be an opportunity for Q&A so please come with your questions.

Like most of you, I knew hardly anything about the political issues in the Middle East. It was on October 7th, 2023, the word “Hamas” became a known word in my vocabulary. And now I know too much from my countless hours of research, reading and listening. There comes a point where like King Solomon, one has to say enough to learning. “…Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh.” –Ecclesiastes 12:12

This morning I read this testimony where a Gazan man was told about Jesus from an Israeli believer! Wow. That is incredible. I hope reading their story will encourage you too.

Read this article by One For Israel on what will become of Gaza from a Bible perspective.

3. Here is this month’s newsletter by the Healing Rooms Ministry. Please read through their stories to encourage your faith for healing and miracles. I know that we hardly ever see any in our area, but it is happening elsewhere. The Healing Rooms Ministry offers training programs if you have the freedom to take their classes. In my opinion, healing and miracles require training. I think it is because being used as God’s vessel to heal someone can lead to great pride. I noticed that pride always led to deception and great destruction. When things go well and smoothly in your life, please watch out for pride!

I like Psalm 30:8-9 for personal prayers. I know the psalmist is talking about money but I think it can be used for other needs (like health, relationships, work, etc) that we have as well.

“Eliminate any hint of worthless and deceitful words from my lips.
    Do not make me poor or rich,
    but give me each day what I need;
For if I have too much, I might forget You are the One who provides,
    saying, “Who is the Eternal One?”
Or if I do not have enough, I might become hungry and turn to stealing
    and thus dishonor the good name of my God.”
