The Cost of Being a Disciple.

Luke 14:25-27 (NLT)

25 A large crowd was following Jesus. He turned around and said to them, 26 “If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple. 27 And if you do not carry your own cross and follow me, you cannot be my disciple.

I have learned how to be content.

Philippians 4:11-13 (ESV)

11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Updates and more.

Wow I can’t believe it’s been since March 2017 when I wrote my last post! I have been very busy with life and family duties, relationships, etc; and my service time has been taking care of the prayer ministry the Lord has given me to lead. God sends many people into this prayer group for their ministry. It has been a revolving door. God has been faithful to provide few core ladies who have stayed and ministers with me too. The enemy worked overtime on me and the core prayer ladies in order to destroy our group. I have learned that the enemy does not like praying saints! BUT God…! Need I say more?! 🙂

Proactive Faith

Dodie Osteen is the mother of Joel Osteen, the famous pastor from Texas. I remember once Joel Osteen was talking about his mom’s terminal liver cancer. She was released from the hospital with only few weeks to live. Christmas was coming up, and Joel and his siblings knew how much she always wanted to own fancy China dishes. They were young but pooled their money together to buy her a set of fancy China dishes. However the store lacked one more setting to make a complete set. Now, Joel and his siblings had to decide at the store, “do we order the extra setting?” knowing well what the doctors have said. Back in those days, with the manufacturer being in England and the dishes made with high standards, the store said it’ll take up to six months.  Continue reading Proactive Faith

Interesting Worship

My church announced few months ago that due to increase in attendance, they will be adding an additional service on Sundays so there will be three services. However adding another service will cut off more time, and so each service will be only an hour long. When I first heard this announcement I was disappointed because I knew worship time will be cut as well. I really enjoy worship and I know the Holy Spirit used this time to minister to me mightily especially in the beginning. I was concerned about the quality ministry for new converts especially since many are not connected to a small group yet. I keep these concerns in my heart.  Continue reading Interesting Worship

Helmet of Salvation and Poison Dreams

Yesterday I had this dream where the enemy was throwing rocks at me. From the way he was throwing he only cared about hitting my head. He was very intent on aiming my head. As I successfully ducked many attempts, after a while one rock finally hit me on my head. Then just like the cartoons, I was stunned and blacked out seeing stars around me. This is when I woke up and heard immediately within me – “helmet of salvation”.  Continue reading Helmet of Salvation and Poison Dreams

Love Will Find A Way

I remember this powerful experience at Target so vividly. It was about six years ago. I believe Jesus was just starting to implement his action plans to woo me back into his arms. After all, Jesus is an Extraordinary Strategist. I was minding my own business shopping for household items. Then I looked up and saw far away in the clothing section, a bright neon orange shirt hanged up high with these words on it, “Love Will Find A Way.” OMG – suddenly I was doused with great floods of great love. Right in the middle of Target I couldn’t contain myself but started bawling uncontrollably.  Continue reading Love Will Find A Way

Fasting and Praying

As a teen I went through a period of having an eating disorder. I didn’t know at the time that there was a name for it – anorexia. It came on suddenly and then I was hooked. I remember it was very rewarding to not eat, gave me a sense of great accomplishment and made me feel worthy. Going on the scale as my pounds dropped rewarded my sacrifice. I’m 5’4″ and when I finally went down to 99 I was so happy, excited and proud. It’s a sick disorder.  Continue reading Fasting and Praying
