Healing wounded soldiers.

“And blessed is he who is not offended because of me.” – Matthew 11:6 (NKJV)

Jesus says this in response to John the Baptist’s inquiry whether or not he is the Messiah. I’ve been contemplating a lot on why Jesus would say this rather than tell John ‘yes or no’. I don’t know how John received Jesus’ reply but I think I can draw a parallel with my own personal experiences.  Continue reading Healing wounded soldiers.

Blessing of a skinned knee.

The book, “Blessing of a skinned knee.” by Wendy Mogel uses Jewish teachings to raise self-reliant, optimistic and well-mannered children. This book shares key Jewish principles to teach your kids with the expectation that they follow them. Also, it’s better to allow your children to ‘skin their knee’ from the fall of their mistakes and shortcomings under your careful guidance at home versus navigating through as adults with their issues.  Continue reading Blessing of a skinned knee.

God’s plans for your life.

Last year around this time, God gave me a great victory. After patiently waiting and believing in the Lord, my husband finally conceded to me being able to give to Christian charities. Not only that but my annual allowance to give was very generous, into the thousands. Friends, you have no idea how much my husband opposed giving to religious charities especially Christian-based ones. This was a long awaited miracle! Continue reading God’s plans for your life.

First Love, First Faith

In Revelation 2, Jesus tells the church of Ephesus to return to their first love. Apparently it’s a sin to not maintain the first love of Jesus because he tells the church to turn back to him and repent. If you read this without the understanding of Jesus’ heart guided by the Holy Spirit, it’s easy to let fear and loathing to creep into your heart. In my opinion, Jesus tells us strongly to keep the ‘first love’ alive in our hearts for our well-being and protection. Continue reading First Love, First Faith

Good Wine.

My husband and I just came back from a weekend trip to the Napa Valley, California. We went there for our anniversary. Napa and Sonoma are known for amazing wineries, beautiful landscapes and great food. We visited several wineries, touring their vineyards and wine-making facilities. The guides are passionate about making good wine and shared their knowledge with us. Continue reading Good Wine.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

When my husband saw that I was taking my faith to a level that seemed ‘cult-like’ to him, he was concerned. I can understand him. I went from having no faith and interest in my religion to waking up early to pray, reading the bible daily and seeking regular Christian fellowship. So when he learned that the self-empowered motivational speaker, Tony Robbins was coming to our area he pressured me to attend the conference. I don’t know his exact reasons but perhaps he wanted me to get into a more self-reliant belief. Continue reading I’m a fire walker.
