Small group is kinda like a soccer team.

Both my kids are in travel soccer teams. I’ve never played team sports or had any interest in following a popular sports team. But after few years of experiencing travel soccer through my kids, I can’t help but see a parallel between my church small group and my kids’ soccer teams. Let me explain.  Continue reading Small group is kinda like a soccer team.

Gift of Obedience

My son’s third grade class was reading and studying autobiographies. For his home writing assignments, I borrowed many books on a wide range of historical figures. It was interesting to see the people he chose to read about. I was surprised to find that I knew so little about many historical people. I read through them all. I find children’s autobiography books easy and good to read! 😁  Continue reading Gift of Obedience

Why would God rob you?!

I used to share with my Christian friends about the revelations that God was giving me – because I had to tell somebody. 🙂 Praise God that they read my long stories and celebrated with me. Praise God that my circumstances isolated me so that I had to write down my stories versus share in person. Recently I felt I should go back and read my old writings. Praise God that they were saved. Here’s an old writing from July 2012. May this old revelation bless you! Continue reading Why would God rob you?!

Seek Ye First

Matthew 6:33(KJV)
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

This is a quote by Jesus that I meditate on constantly. Especially in the beginning I would wonder if this statement is really true. One thing I love about getting older with the Lord is that I acquire more experience of his faithfulness. Just like an intimate relationship, the hardest part is probably after the honeymoon period is over and now you must learn to live daily with a new partner that is vastly different from your ways. Unlike a human relationship, this union is a divine one and no matter what you believe and know, Jesus is always correct. Therefore when I have a tough time with his ways I ask for understanding and clarity.  Continue reading Seek Ye First

Quest for Moby Dick

Over five years ago, I followed Jesus out of my city into the desert.* I learned so much living life with Jesus in this environment. At one point I felt like I would be in this wilderness for all eternity. Then one early morning, God through the Holy Spirit breathe into me a great promise. I believe it was four years when I received this word:

“God is not only the God of the desert, but also the God of the ocean, the God of the sky and the heaven. He will let you experience all these in time.”  Continue reading Quest for Moby Dick

My Nourishment.

The past couple of weeks I’ve been feeling “anemic” or lacking a certain vital food group in my spiritual diet. I just didn’t understand what I was missing since nothing new or different has happened, and so during our weekly prayer time after bible study, I asked my co-leader to pray for me. I don’t believe in hiding my spiritual state especially from another believer that I’m united together for God’s work.  Continue reading My Nourishment.
