I was very fortunate to be born into a middle-class family in a stable country. Immigrating to America as a child gave me more freedom and opportunities. Starvation, oppression, and abuses by great evil were not my portion. I’m very grateful for this. God has been very good to me. Continue reading Kingdom of Night

Putting God on the guest list.
My daughter has been attending religious Hebrew school for the past six years in order to become a bat mitzvah, which means she has received her training to follow the Jewish mitzvots and is committing herself to her religion and traditions now as an adult. There are over 600 mitzvots or commandments. Continue reading Putting God on the guest list.
The important thumb
My mom was attending a house church on her block for nearly two years. Listening to how she discovered this private house church seemed divinely set up by God. My mom, sister and nephew were regularly attending and were being greatly blessed. Though I had my hesitation on this house church, I was so thankful that they finally were committing themselves to a church, learning the word and being accountable to other believers. Continue reading The important thumb
Unequally yoked.
My husband likes to watch the newest, popular movies with me. If it wasn’t for my husband I wouldn’t watch them. In the earlier years when my husband was greatly disturbed with my increasing faith there was tremendous grace given to me to watch movies and TV shows with him. Continue reading Unequally yoked.
Same sex marriage.
In America, same-sex marriage became legal across the states. I’ve kept my thoughts quiet on this matter because I was torn between the views of two opposing sides. I’ve been part of the world for a long time and now being part of the Christian community, I completely understand both sides of arguments. I prayed and asked the Lord to grant me His understanding and wisdom on this matter. Continue reading Same sex marriage.
The Year in Review.
In NYC Times Square people can write down their 2015 events on a piece of paper that they’d like to shred into confetti for the New Year ball drop. It’s called a ‘Good Riddance’ sheet. As you can imagine these participants are glad to be done with 2015 and are hoping the new year brings happier times. Watching this report on the news made me smile and prompted me to review my year. Continue reading The Year in Review.
No confidence in the flesh.
In my morning quiet time the Holy Spirit brought up a verse that piqued my attention. I heard ‘no confidence in the flesh’. I don’t remember reading or hearing these words but when I googled it, it came up in Philippians 3:3 (NKJV):
“For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,” Continue reading No confidence in the flesh.
Wicked.
My daughter and I went into NYC to see the popular Broadway show, “Wicked” with my mother-in-law. It was a holiday gift from my MIL to my daughter. This show has been on for many years and yet it’s still very popular and expensive too. Continue reading Wicked.
Fear Less.
I was powerfully touched (actually ‘electrified’ is the better verb) by the Spirit of God in a teen church retreat where I also accepted salvation through Jesus Christ. There was even an exorcism experience.* I believe I was 13. Continue reading Fear Less.
