Healing + Ted Turner + Gift of tongue + Paranormal investigator + Fear of God + Audio Bible + Christian martyrs + Fasting and praying for persecuted Christians

Hello friends. In this week’s newsletter I’d like to share with you some thoughts about healing and other supernatural topics. I’ve thought a lot about this topic of healing, and read and heard so many testimonies in the past 15 years. After much prayer, pondering and research, I’ve concluded that it’s always best to do everything you can to fight for healing, both medically and spiritually.

In all things, I always check for the fruit. And I do not like the fruit that’s produced from premature death that comes from disease or sickness. For example, research the life story of Ted Turner, the famous businessman and founder of CNN who passed away this year. When he was a teenager, he was planning to go to seminary and become a missionary. But his sister died after battling a chronic disease for a few years. He turned bitter after her death, and became anti-God and anti-Christian. I found this short article about Ted Turner which hinted that he might’ve returned back to his faith as he aged.

During the Jesus Revolution revival times in the USA in 1960s, there were a lot of non-denominational, Pentecostal churches experiencing healing and miracles. I wonder if his mom or dad heard about these churches. Oh I wish they traveled to receive prayers for their daughter from one of these ministers. The Church could have used Ted Turner and his high energy and courage in the mission fields.

Currently I’m in a prayer group with ladies from Minnesota who are praying for their dear friend who has spinal cancer. The way I got connected to them is divine timing. It was six years ago when another Christian woman that I was praying for died from her spinal cancer. The fruit in her husband’s life after her death is not good at all. He is a very bitter man today. He is far from God and buries his pain with pleasure and probably gambling.

The prayer ladies in Minnesota pray very differently than I do for healing. I’m watching and listening and learning from them closely. Also the lady who has the spinal cancer wants to live. She is fighting hard, both medically and spiritually. She is about my age and has two young adult children too. I will let you know what happens.

Over the past 15 years I’ve debated and discussed with my Christian friends on so many topics  – some examples: vaccines, abortion, political parties and polices, Israel, gift of tongue, prophetic gifts, healing, angels and demons, women as pastors, yoga, Word of Faith movement, worship styles, differences in denominational beliefs and traditions, end-times theories, etc, etc. I don’t think I’ve lost any friends over our differences in opinions. Maybe I did, but they just didn’t tell me I lost their friendship. 😂 Generally, we stop debating over these things when we see that we are not going to agree. Rather, we just enjoy each other’s company when we meet, and pray and support each other when we need help.

It’s okay to shelf a topic of contention in your conversations. Relationship should always be more important than being right. Please remember that a Christian friend is an alliance. Our enemy is Satan and his demons. You need your Christian friends when you or your loved ones are being attacked by the enemy.

I have a friend who grew up in a church. She has seen a lot of hypocrisy and unlovely things in the church. She told me once that she has a hard time with the gift of tongue because she saw those in the church who have this gift would be so hypocritical and mean-spirited. She associated this supernatural gift with hypocrisy and so couldn’t get herself to appreciate or want this gift. I thought about what she said and as I was praying about it, and I received an answer from the Holy Spirit that has given me peace. Holy Spirit said to me that you don’t know what is being prayed in the heavenly language. They may be speaking in tongues to be “showy” and look spiritual to others, but they are praying for their own discipline which is for their own good. Like all good fathers, God disciplines His unruly and cruel children.

I have the gift of tongue and it helps me tremendously when I’m afraid of an environment or I’m being attacked spiritually by a demonic spirit. I highly recommend asking for this gift. It’s very useful and helpful to have. I also understand that it makes people very uncomfortable to hear it since the entertainment industry has associated it with witch spells and demonic possessions. Therefore I don’t speak with my gift of tongue in public places like in church services or in corporate prayer meetings. But if I’m very scared or feel threatened, I probably will. So if you ever hear me use my heavenly language in public, pray!…and maybe run or take cover? 😆

Please hear this interview of a woman who was a paranormal investigator. Today she is a saved Christian and is sharing about her experiences. Since these paranormal investigative shows are very popular, I suggest you to hear her interview. The thrill, excitement and money that came from chasing paranormal activities were not worth the demonic torment that she brought into her life. She had no rest at all and barely slept too.

“On this episode of “Into the Supernatural,” Billy Hallowell and Jen Lilley sit down with Kristina Costanza, a former ghost hunter and TV personality whose search for the supernatural led her into darkness, fear, and spiritual oppression. But everything changed when she encountered Jesus Christ.”https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/into-the-supernatural-with-jen-lilley-billy-hallowell/id1590506368?i=1000774498606

I understand that some people are wired differently and want more supernatural encounters. Then PLEASE learn from good reputable Christian teachers, and not a TV show. Please note that from my experiences when you follow Jesus Christ and do what he asks you to do, then you will draw attention from the enemy (aka demons). Trust me, they will come and try to scare you to give up. This is when your fear of Godneeds to be greater than your fear of demons. The fear of God will prevent you from running away, but stand and fight, and pass the battles.

If you want to develop a good healthy fear of God, then read the Holy Bible every day. I used to look down on audio Bible. But then one day it dawned on me that most people were illiterate throughout church history and didn’t know how to read. They heard the Bible being read by learned, religious men. And so I stopped being a snob about audio Bible. I’m currently doing an audio Bible reading plan. It’s been good and I’m enjoying the dramatized voices too.

“Be constantly committed to prayer and to reading Scripture; by praying, you speak to God, in reading, God speaks to you.” – St. Cyprian of Carthage

According to church history, he was the first African martyr. It was interesting to read about his life and how he stood up to the Pope about an important faith issue. I would have sided with him and not the Pope. Here’s a brief summary about him. https://www.franciscanmedia.org/saint-of-the-day/saint-cyprian/

Speaking of martyrs, June 29 was the Day of the Christian Martyr. Please read this article about female Christian martyrs.

I keep up with today’s persecuted Christian news around the world. I heard many stories. One story that I heard comes to mind. Somewhere in the Middle East (I forget which country), Christians were being killed in massive numbers. Before the attackers came, one young mom told her little ones that they will be together in heaven very soon and to never renounce Jesus Christ when threatened, and that the bullets will only hurt a little bit. This mom’s last words to her children were heard by a survivor and being told.

If anyone is interested in joining me, I am going to fast and pray for persecuted Christians on Mondays. This Monday when I was fasting and praying, I was reminded by the Holy Spirit that I did that for human trafficking when I learned about this evil over a decade ago. I fasted and prayed for greater attention to this issue by the government and that more men to get involved in combating this. Back then, I mostly saw women bringing awareness and combating this evil. Today I see many men and government agencies bringing awareness and combating human trafficking. Prayer and fasting works and moves the mighty hand of God who is very eager to bring justice and rescue the victims. How much more for His children, our brothers and sisters in Christ who are being persecuted!

Isaiah 58:6 (NIV)
Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

If you ever want to see what is coming up in the future for a church, community or country, then go to corporate prayer meetings. Whatever the intercessors are praying for together in unity and with perseverance, that’ll come to fruition. But sometimes it takes time since the destruction and death could have been there for decades. Just be patient and watch what God does. When God moves, it’s quite suddenly!

USA soccer team continues to give glory to God! 😃 They are Gen Zers that so many intercessors have been praying for since they were little children. This is not a coincidence but due to a lot of fasting and praying for the Gen Z. This is just the beginning of our harvest.

Have a blessed day. With much prayer and in the grace of Jesus Christ 🙏❤️

22 But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. – Galatians 5:22-23 (AMP)
