Hi everyone. When I came across this pamphlet recently about abundant life, it reminded me of this older message. As a young teenager, I had a sense that what I was being told in advertisements, movies, TV shows, magazines, etc were not going to lead me to an abundant life. I suppose that is why I was willing to give Jesus Christ and the church a chance to teach me how to get an abundant life – whatever that meant. Perhaps like my younger self, you also are wondering what is abundant life? Is it family, money, beauty, career, power, success, freedom, love, sex, popularity, friends, health, independence, influence, accomplishments, materialism, traditions, travels…what is it?
You could spend your whole life trying out one item at a time, and you could even try some shortcuts by reading autobiographies and biographies of people you’d like to emulate. There are so many biopics out there today too, if you are not much of a reader. I’ve done my research – the answer is Jesus Christ. Here is the pamphlet about abundant life that I told you about. I really like this exert from the pamphlet:
“As we plant the seeds of God’s Word in our lives, we reap a harvest of seeing His marvelous grace and astounding love for us. We gather a crop of wisdom that helps us navigate this life, love others, and live in peace.”

Hello ladies! Here is the prayer sheet that we will use for our prayer call this Wednesday, 10/5 at 1pm. Theme is “God is Life”.
I have heard people say “My family/children/friends are my life”, “Soccer/football/hobby is my life”, “Traveling/career is my life”, etc. These things are all fine and nice, but they seem so fragile and very brief in light of eternity and pales in comparison to God Almighty. If you are not there yet, where you can say “God is my life” then just be honest and real with God in prayer. Be open and ask God to help you change your mind and heart. He doesn’t want robot-children who are mainly hanging around Him so they don’t go to hell. It is a prayer that He will answer. I know since He did it for me. I’m not sure when my heart and mind change happened…it took a while. It didn’t happen overnight but all I know is that now I am convinced, without a shadow of doubt that “God is my life”. This revelation didn’t occur with my circumstances changing since many of you know that my circumstances haven’t changed much for the past 12 years.
Jesus promised an abundant life if we obey His teachings and follow Him.
John 10:9-10 (VOICE)
I am the gate; whoever enters through Me will be liberated, will go in and go out, and will find pastures. The thief approaches with malicious intent, looking to steal, slaughter, and destroy; I came to give life with joy and abundance.
However, you have to be studying your Bible in order to learn His ways. It does not come by osmosis, like sleeping with a Bible next to your head. It comes by studying the Bible. Watch your studious children studying for school if it’s been a while for you in studying.
I’ve discovered that as I’m studying the Bible and doing what it tells me to do to the best of my abilities, then life and relationships seem to go more smoothly. Try it for yourself. Please don’t give up so quickly.
