Summer reruns – Fwd: Power of corporate gathering and prayer + TD Jakes + Charles Murray + Apostle Peter + NDE stories

Hello friends. I’ve been walking through memory lane as I’m reading my older messages. I’m reminded of the many battles fought and won; and reviewing some battles that were lost – not to feel condemned but to learn more from the perspective of longer time distance.

This was the time period when I had to keep standing firm on what I was led to do, which is to keep leading two prayer groups. Who knew that the world would lockdown in March 2020 from coronavirus pandemic? I believe that our established prayer teams made huge impact in this tumultuous time period. When in heaven, I look forward to seeing behind-the-scenes impact of what our corporate prayers did in the spiritual realm. For His glory.

Good morning ladies! Reading this devotional today reminded me of a story that pastor Joel Osteen shared on his Sirius XM radio sermon. I’ve been thinking about it for couple of days and I believe I’m meant to share it with you.

There was a young man who came from a family line of organized occultism and witchcraft. His grandfather was the head wizard of their region and he knew how to get out of his body and roam the airs. He went out of his body to torment a local adversary. When he went to his home he wasn’t able to get through the walls. He looked through a window and he saw several shiny, glowing and radiating bodies of people who came to this man’s home for a Bible study. As long as they were in this man’s home, this powerfully trained warlock could not enter this man’s home. The young man from the warlock family who became a believer shared with Joel Osteen that if Christians only knew how powerful they are in the spiritual world then they will be less afraid.

Here is Greg Laurie’s devotional that made me think of Joel Osteen’s sharing. If you are new to the faith or new to bible reading, I highly recommend subscribing to the free daily devotional by Greg Laurie. He also has many free resources on his website for newer believers or readers of the Bible.

Yesterday I was thinking a lot about this verse:

Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NLT)
12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

A lone Christian is a defeated believer. If you are fortunate to be married to another believer or have close family member who believe and pray together then you will have victory. But if you are facing a great attack or prolonged battle then you need the body of Christ, the church. I think the smartest thing you can do during times of calm and peace is establishing your relationship with other believers. This takes effort, time, and sometimes forgiveness.

Having lead prayer groups for nearly four years I believe more than ever that something powerful is happening when we pray corporately rather than alone or just with your family. This article explains it well with supporting bible verses.

The spring semester of small groups are starting back in February at church. I have asked for a room to pray together on Tuesday mornings at 9:30-11:30. Peggy will continue to be my co-leader. Please pray about joining our small group especially if you don’t have anyone in your family who believe in the power of prayer. Once the church opens up the registration, I will inform you.

For the Mom’s in prayer group, I am praying and working to establish the next hosting home. If you are interested in hosting one time this spring semester, please email me. Until then please join the NJ Mom’s in prayer in the January month of prayer. This is done on your own and they give you a prayer sheet to guide your prayers. Please visit this link to sign up to pray. Go to week 2 tab:

Also, today is the global day of prayer and fasting organized by the Mom’s in prayer international. If you are available at noon today, please join the NJ chapter to pray together by phone. You can join other states if you are not free at noon. Last year I joined the NY prayer hour.

Please continue to pray for me as I lead our two groups to pray together in the new spring semester. Thank you for your prayers and support. With love and prayers ❤️🙏

This week, I heard great interviews. I think you’ll be greatly blessed by them too:

TD Jake’s testimony – I didn’t really know much about his backstory but wow, what a testimony! He is a fighter. And he comes from a family of godly warriors, especially his mom. What a mom! Please give this interview a listen and let it encourage and inspire you to fight, fight, fight against the enemy (aka Satan and demons).

Dr. Charles Murray -He’s a well known and respected social policy scientist and author. His latest book looks great especially for the intellectual agnostics.

“Guest Bio:
Charles Murray is a social scientist, author, and public intellectual known for his work on culture, social policy, and human flourishing. A longtime scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, he has written widely discussed books including Coming Apart, The Bell Curve, and Losing Ground. His recent book, Taking Religion Seriously, reflects on his intellectual journey from secular indifference toward a growing openness to belief in God and the significance of religion in human life.”

This is a powerful testimony of a former Muslim in Uganda 🇺🇬 and a reminder that our burden and yoke is light as Jesus Christ said it’ll be when we are yoked to him.

I think anyone who is older (ages 50+) would appreciate this message a lot. It’s about the Apostle Peter’s life of faith and death.

http://sermons.tsc.nyc/stretching-out-your-hands-dying-a-deeper-death/

FYI, Apostle Peter died in an upside down crucifix according to church history. Whenever I hear of Christians getting killed because of their faith, I would feel bad that their last moments on earth were painful and terrifying. But last week when I heard these stories who had near-death-experiences due to horrific accidents; it reassured me that Jesus sheltered them from experiencing the physical pain and emotional terror. They had no memories of their accidents! Wow. What a God!

“Susanne Seymour and Heidi Barr died tragic deaths as children, and Dr Mary Neal drowned. However, they never experienced fear, panic, or the suffering their loved ones imagined they had. They all were rescued and removed from the scene before the suffering began, and instead felt safe and loved in the arms of Jesus. In this video, they share powerful words of comfort and hope for the parents and families grieving the loss of their children and loved ones from the July 4, 2025, Texas Floods.”
