I just started to read this older book, “The Jesus I Never Knew”. It is excellent. I’ve read up to chapter 3. I didn’t realize how incredibly volatile and violent times that Jesus was born at. I knew from reading other books that the Roman occupiers were very, very cruel. What I didn’t realize was how often the Jewish people rose up against them. It is no wonder that the Romans disseminated the Jewish people around 70 A.D. and the survivors dispersed all over the world until 1948 when Israel was resurrected in a day as the Bible prophecies foretold. It was fascinating to learn more about the different factions of the Jewish people during Jesus’ time. Just like the author, Phil Clancy I also wondered which group I would have been part of. Whatever tribe that I might have been in when Jesus came into the scene, I hope I would’ve been in the crowd when Jesus preached the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12), where the poor, the hungry, the grieving, the persecuted and the meek end up being the blessed ones.

I got to watch the movie “Daniel and The Fiery Furnace” that I told you about in my last week’s newsletter. It was really good. The movie budget was only 2.9 million dollars which is peanuts for any movie production. In this CT article, the producers share some information about the movie and its production. They filmed it in India for cost efficiency. The movie only covered the first 3 chapters in the book of Daniel. God willing, they hope to produce the rest in series. I read this CBN article right before I saw the movie. I’m glad I did because the part where there’s lots of wind and thunder when Daniel was speaking about God to the pagan king Nebuchadnezzar was totally real. It wasn’t fake. Wow.

There were a lot of new movies being advertised before the Daniel movie. This one especially stood out to me. It’s called “Zero A.D.: The Birth of Christ”. It’ll be perfect timing for Christmas. Here’s the link to see the trailer.

Please watch this AI-generated video of the angels of God as described in the book of Ezekiel. It’s so cool! Prophet Ezekiel was exiled to Babylon as Daniel was. Prophet Jeremiah was kept alive back in Jerusalem. After seeing this video I can understand where Ezekiel got his endurance and fear of God from. This interview was fascinating. I did a Beth Moore’s Bible study on Apostle Paul’s life in ministry. It was exhausting just studying and thinking about his many experiences and travels! Apostle Paul wrote about 2/3 of the New Testament books. 
This archeologist, history professor, and best selling author, Dr. Matthew Larsen taught at Yale, Princeton, Copenhagen, and is now a chaired professor at the University of Texas. He reminds me of the movie character, Indiana Jones. If you want to know how eyewitnesses described Apostle Paul’s appearance, hear this interview. It’s in the beginning of the interview. Apostle Paul was not at all what I’d imagined him to look like.

This is an interview with an accomplished Christian doctor. It was excellent. Here’s a brief description:

This interview is with the #1 ObGyn doctor on menopause. My ObGyn and mom have been warning me about menopause since my mid-40s. I decided to not accept their words. Therefore I kept praying proactively and persistently since my mid-40s to not experience the negative effects of menopause. Now I realized after hearing this interview that God answered my personal prayer request! A friend shared it with me last week, and I believe God wanted to show me that my petitions were answered. 🙂 I was clueless. 

Today I’m 54, and post-menopause. I have walked through this critical stage of a woman’s life without any issues. Praise the Lord Jesus! I also learned that many women can be misdiagnosed by their well-meaning doctors and treated with wrong medications while a simple lifestyle changes, and holistic and hormonal treatment is the best way. Research on menopause has been very limited and not funded much in the past. That’s changing now as there are more female ObGyn doctors. I highly recommend everyone to hear this interview and maybe buy her book to learn the latest research on menopause and treatments. Some women can enter menopause in their 30s, so it’s wise to hear this before 40.

Michael Keller, the son of the famous late pastor, Tim Keller wrote this excellent commentary on chasing happiness in our modern society. Just like his dad, he also links his thoughts with research. For the doubters and seekers, research-based writings are very helpful. Please share this with those on the fence about following Jesus Christ. I remember I used to wonder who this Jesus was and why I should follow him.

1. Her testimony is really amazing. She truly tried everything that the world could offer and she saw at the end like the prodigal son story that they were all empty and dead ends. 

I also saw at the end of the article that now she’s married and has a child. I am truly amazed by her freedom to share her experiences and stories. I am Gen X, Asian immigrant and taught to hide negative experiences and thoughts. The younger millennials and Gen Z are teaching me the power of sharing testimonies to destroy the lies of the enemy to free others. May we be such freed people for the glory of Jesus Christ, and to free others from Satan, sooner than later.

2. I just finished his testimony too. Wow. What a story! He revealed the behind-the-scenes of Hinduism in Nepal. It is very demonic. He was brought into Christ in 2011. That’s the same year when I was pulled back into Christ as well! I loved what he said at the end as he was talking about praying and believing for his family’s salvation. He said something like (not sure if I quoted him exactly) – “passion isn’t always there, faith can be small but Jesus is always faithful.” Amen to that! 

His parents didn’t throw him out of the house when he was living a wild lifestyle but threw him out when he became a believer of Jesus Christ. That was interesting to note too. 

He was only 16 years old when he was thrown out of the house for converting. I can’t imagine being thrown out by my parents for my religious beliefs. 

A powerful demon visited him one night when he was sincerely exploring Christianity. He cried out “Jesus” and the demon fled immediately. Amazing. There are so many takeaways from hearing his testimony. Please listen and learn, and share his testimony with others who are exploring Hinduism. I was very drawn to Hinduism as a young person exploring world religions. I stopped when their beliefs and stories sounded like Greek mythology to me.
