Born-again as a premie. 

When I was about 14, I went to a weeklong summer youth retreat participated by several Korean churches. After seeing many youth worshipping God and the evening sermon touching my heart, I remember yearning to know God too. I asked on that second night in silent prayer, “God, if you are real, please show me.” The very next morning He did with great power!

‘Arranged marriage’ dream

What a neat dream I just had today! In this dream I was engaged to a man I didn’t know through an arranged marriage orchestrated by the elders. Time period was such that this custom felt normal and acceptable. I saw my maternal grandparents busy and getting my wedding dowry ready! Our household wasn’t dirt poor; we had the basics and therefore we lived satisfied. Nevertheless this wedding dowry was demanding much of what we had. I was wondering if this bridegroom was worth it.

Believe

Luke 1:45 – You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said.

It’s been four months since I’ve been living out my word of the year “Believe”. (I follow the academic year so it started early September.) Luke 1:45 is my backbone verse for my word, and the Holy Spirit has been faithfully giving me other scriptures to keep on encouraging and inspiring me to stand firm on my word “Believe”.

The Cost of Being a Disciple.

Luke 14:25-27 (NLT)

25 A large crowd was following Jesus. He turned around and said to them, 26 “If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple. 27 And if you do not carry your own cross and follow me, you cannot be my disciple.
